Message from the Regional Secretary, Paresh Patel.


Our aim is to help and support all our members to build a better life for themselves and their families. We hope to ensure that being a member of the union is a lifetime choice, from the cradle to the grave.  We are committed to campaigning and organising around the issues that matter to our members; such as decent jobs, pay, conditions, equalities, pensions, and safe and healthy workplaces. We are also involved in local community issues, organising around issues that affect our members. We are committed to fighting against the injustices that are blighting many of our members.

Unite has been at the forefront of many legal changes in favour of working people including the recent case law made as a result of strike action by members in this very region.  The judgement made against Argos can be found here.

Unite doesn’t just help working people, we have an active retired members section and a growing Community membership which you can find out more about here.
